• Hello all!

CE2 have been busy showing off a range of skills during these couple of months.

Having looked at famous landmarks and explained where they are, we described them; what they looked like, where they were and what was surrounding them.

We looked at music and what musical instruments can be played. It turns out that quite a lot of CE2 are very skilled with musical instruments! We learnt "I am the music man" and the children enjoyed singing this over and over.

After this we looked at creating our own questionnaires based on hobbies, food, music (naturally!) and families. The children were able to write 10 questions each and ask their neighbour to answer them. They then read aloud to the rest of the class, taking it in turns.

Finally, we looked at animals and linked them to prepositions of place. Who could find the animal and describe where the animal was on a poster. All of the children seemed to enjoy spotting the animals and working on their own clues to ask others in the class about the location of the animals!

We are now looking forward to the big main project, the summer solstice!

  • CE2 spent December carefully laying out and writing a letter to Santa Claus so that he knew what to bring each child during the Christmas and New Year period.

January has seen the children writing their own short story about different characters that they have encountered in the alphabet. After writing the story, most of the children felt confident enough to read their story to the rest of the class!

  • Dear all,

In Servane's group, the  general theme is still European countries, but we are now learning about finding 'key words' in a paragraph in order to find information on the web faster.

Then, we went on a webquest to find out the name of the countries described in the paragraphs. It was like a riddle, and some of us gave funny answers ( Ex: Sean lives in Startup European...!) but in the end we all got it! ;)

Now we're writing a paragraph about a mystery country and we'll make the others guess which country we are talking about.

    Holiday soon, enjoy!

  • On Sept, 26th, it was European Day of Languages, so we participated to the creation of a big Tree of Languages, on which we wrote "I love my school" in many different languages. We had a lot of fun!

Previously, we had worked on learning the names of quite a few European countries, nationalities and languages spoken. We've also worked on the UK and the countries that constitute the kingdom.

Here is a photo of our language tree:

  • Hello everybody and welcome back!

The children have been welcomed back to school by looking at the classroom rules and understanding basic commands. We have practised the verb ‘TO BE’ and created a short book with the conjugations in it.

We have been looking at vacations and holidays with the aim of making and writing a short postcard about a holiday the children have taken.
